A great use of your gently used books:  The Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office hosts an annual book drive collecting and donating thousands of books to the 
inmate library at the Knox County Sheriff’s Detention Facility each year. The book drive promotes literacy among the hundreds of inmates jailed in Knox County at no expense to taxpayers. There is no restriction as to length. Books must be:  1. paperback, 2. not sexually explicit, and 3. have no handwriting/highlighting.  To participate: Drop of your gently used books by June 20 in the lobby of Northshore Pellissippi Storage (across from Publix at the I-140/Northshore interchange) on Monday – Friday 9-6 PM and Saturdays 9-3 PM or at the Community Law Office,, 1101 Liberty Street.  The CLO staff is also willing to pick-up.  Call them at  594-6120 to make arrangements.
